Walter Ribaga from Maitres du Temps demonstrated their 2012 lines to me, including the very beautiful Chapter Three Reveal.
Made in a classic round shape, and a very comfortable 42mm size, the watch still retains the signature rollers found in the Chapter One and Two. This time however, the rollers (an AM/PM indicator at 12 o’clock and GMT 2nd timezone function at 6 o’clock) are hidden behind 2 moveable dial openings!
On first inspection you see the time, date, small seconds and moonphase functions. Press in the side pusher however and the 2 hidden complications are revealed. This is a very good feature for those that like the mechanics and intricacies of a complication but don’t wish for it to always be on display.
The movement is completely in-house, and made this time by Andreas Strehler and Kari Voutilainen. You can see the beautiful finishing, as well as the back side of the 2 rollers through the rear sapphire window.
I will be posting up a video shortly showing the ‘Reveal’ in action!
